PERFORM LA FEMME
Jana C Perez and Angilee Wilkerson
Constructing environmental landscapes and utilizing a visual narrative style, artists Jana C. Perez and Angilee Wilkerson create performative self-portraits that explore reflections of self through fantasy, stereotype, eros and dreams, both imagined and experienced.
An underlying theme in the work is an acceptance of age, choosing to use their own bodies as expressive vehicles rather than younger models fitting the western trope of sexual beauty.
Inspired by both historic and contemporary females, the images are simultaneously playful, vulnerable and powerful.
Works from this series have been selected for:

- Invented Worlds, Flow Art Space, St. Paul, MN
